About the Show (What is this show “The Hallelujah Girls”?)

Hilarity abounds when the feisty females of Eden Falls, Georgia, decide to shake up their lives. The action in this rollicking Southern comedy takes place in SPA-DEE-DAH! the abandoned church-turned-day-spa where this group of friends gathers every Friday afternoon. After the loss of a dear friend, the women realize time is precious, and if they’re going to change their lives and achieve their dreams, they have to get on it now! But Sugar Lee, their high-spirited, determined leader, has her hands full keeping the women motivated. Carlene’s given up on romance, having buried three husbands. Nita’s a nervous wreck from running interference between her problematic son and his probation officer. Mavis’ marriage is so stagnant she’s wondering how she can fake her own death to get out of it. And sweet, simple Crystal entertains them all, singing Christmas carols with her own hilarious lyrics. The comic tension mounts when a sexy ex-boyfriend shows up unexpectedly, a marriage proposal comes from an unlikely suitor and Sugar Lee’s archrival vows she’ll stop at nothing to steal the spa away from her. By the time the women rally together to overcome these obstacles and launch their new, improved lives, you’ve got a side-splitting, joyful comedy that will make you laugh out loud and shout “Hallelujah!”

When are performances?

President Postmarks

Dear Patrons,
Many thanks to the cast and crew for a great production of, Twelve Angry Jurors, to close our 2009 performance season. Larry Brangwin and Donna Hentges staged another well received show by our patrons. Not typically our comedy based genre, the portrayal of characters by each and every cast member was an enjoyable treat. Special kudos to director, Larry Brangwin, for bringing so many new faces to the Postal Playhouse Stage. I think some of them have been bitten by the theater bug as many promised they would be back – sooner than later!!

We are very proud to debut our newly renovated restrooms and extended lobby. We invite you to review the Postal Playhouse memorabilia that we are proud to display in this new space too. Our handicap accessible ramp is now open for those patrons whose physical conditions deem necessary for use.

Our annual membership drive for our 2010 performance season is in its closing weeks. If you have not renewed your membership upon receipt of this newsletter, I kindly ask you to do so immediately as we are planning on closing our books February 5th. Please complete the membership renewal form included in this newsletter. You find our 2010 season membership rates in the membership article elsewhere in this newsletter.

A Dog’s Life
By Pam Valentine
This play centers around the lives of four dogs at a dog shelter. Ginger, a puppy, found herself in the main block as there was no room in the puppy block. She is obsessed with food. Ben, the dog of a tramp who has died, was confused as to why he was taken from his master and placed in the kennels. Fritz, an ex-Army dog who hates children, takes his fun from the fat Fifi, a French poodle, who is in the kennel beside him. However, when a visitor comes around to view the dogs, what happens is not what you might think.
